A story carried across generations

Reclaiming power from trauma

Welcome to The Longest Road, an intimate exploration of generational healing—where memory, reflection, and medicine converge. This is a story about what we inherit, what we release, and the quiet courage it takes to transform pain into freedom.

A journey through lineage, loss, and the courage to rewrite our story.

What do we carry—and what can we finally set down?

The Longest Road follows four generations of Soviet Jewish women whose lives are shaped by survival, sacrifice, and unspoken pain. After a long history of anti-Semitism, Sasha Perelman’s family fled the USSR in 1979 as religious refugees, carrying the unspoken weight of everything they endured.

In a plant-medicine retreat deep in the Mexican jungle, Sasha uncovers the hidden truths of her family’s journey. Through sacred ceremonies, she faces her mother’s death, her grandmother’s hardened love, and a trilogy of mother-daughter dynamics woven from trauma and resilience.

This is more than a story of migration or survival—it is a journey of reckoning, transformation, and the quiet power of compassion. It begs the question: does the road ever end—and do we ever truly heal?
